Meet Kency
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Kency was born and raised in NY as a member of a large Haitian-American family after his parents immigrated to the US in the 1980s. Kency received his bachelor's degree in psychology and his master's degree in mental health counseling from Pace University where he is now an adjunct professor of psychology. He has been married for 10 years, has 3 children, a German Shepherd named Winston, and two cats.

Today, Kency is also a clinical supervisor at a co-occurring enhanced residential treatment program for women who are struggling with addiction and mental illness. In 2018, Kency started a Libertas Counseling, private counseling practice,, where he provides solution-focused therapy to individuals navigating through difficult life transitions such as divorce and loss. As a devoted father and an engaged member of his community, Kency remains active on his children’s school PTO and serves on a nonprofit board.
